A Few Simple Tips To Lose Weight

A Few Simple Tips To Lose Weight
Weight loss is a tough result to obtain regardless of weight or level of physical fitness. There are many different ways to lose weight, some more unhealthy than others, but the ones that work are most times the most complicated to pull off.

Some people may recommend eating less to lose weight, and in some cases eating less is a key component of losing weight, but in most cases, eating is a necessity if one wishes to lower their own weight. Without food and the calories they supply, your body has no energy to burn and in turn will turn your existing muscle into fat. In order to lose weight you must make a commitment, a commitment that must not be broken if you desire results.

Do not misconstrue this for the idea that you can never indulge during your diet, but just be sure that you have set reasonable limits for yourself that you are ready to commit to. If you are on a strict diet, a "cheat" meal here and there will go a long way to keeping you happy.

To be successful in achieving your goal of weight loss: set multiple, smaller, more easily attainable goals for yourself. These will keep you self motivated and more likely to obtaining your overall goal of a happier and healthier life.

5 Simple Steps to Losing Weight

Simple Step To Losing Weight
If you are carrying around a few (I use that term loosely) extra pounds like most of us are, you all know all the reasons why we should take the weight off. It will reduce stress on our heart, reducing the chance of heart disease, cancer, possibility of diabetes; feel better, look more attractive, etc.

There are 101 reasons why, but it can be a real pain to finally get that weight off. You push really hard, make a little progress, get side tracked, and bam you are heavier then you started.

It’s maddening.  Enough with that hassle, I have put together 5 simple steps to actually losing weight and keeping it off. These steps can be applied to anything, but we are focusing on weight loss here.

1.    Know What You Want
2.    Know Where You Are
3.    Track Your Results
4.    Make Course Corrections
5.    Being held Accountable

Now all your extra weight will effortlessly melt off.  Yeah right! A simple list of 5 items is not going to do it, so let me explain the intricacies of the 5 items and where the hang up normally occurs when applied to losing weight.

1.    Know What You Want

This one is dead simple. Most people that want to lose weight have an idea of how many pounds they would like to lose or how they would like their body to look.

I think we can safely say if your body started looking the way you wanted it, you would know, even if you didn’t have it completely mapped out and detailed.

2.    Know Where You Are

This is the big trip up. It is almost always overlooked and is the number one reason for the up and down Yo Yo effect we experience with losing weight. We are unhappy with how our body feels and how it looks and it is painful to zoom in and get an accurate picture of where we are. Unfortunately, we have to know where we are, to be able to accurately judge the results we are getting.

You are on a trip to San Diego, California. You would like to start your trip from Phoenix, Arizona, but you really don’t know where you are. No problem.  You get an Arizona/California map and find that a simple 6 hours trip west on interstate 8 will get you to San Diego.

6 hours later, you have no clue where you are and it is definitely not warm San Diego.  You feel defeated and you want to give up!  Do you blame the car? The stupid maps? San Diego? Yourself?

Now what if I told you, you were actually in New Your City, not Phoenix, Arizona. A 6 hour car ride west from New York City will never get you to San Diego.

If you took the time to accurately find out where you were, you would have been able to choose the appropriate means to get to San Diego and have an expectation as to how long it would take.

This is the same with weight loss and our personal physical condition. In our minds, we think we are starting in a different physical condition then we really are. When the results don’t follow the illusion in your mind, we get upset.

3. Track Your Results

This is conceptually simple. If we have no clue as to WHAT we are doing, how do we know what is working? It might be a simple to do, but is also simple not to do. In the end, most people never track their results.

4. Make Course Corrections

We love to do this one. We have it hands down. It is like step 1 of knowing what you want. We try the new food diet, the super sit up machine, and the cardio hip hop power energy yoga fat burner class.

We might be great at switching it up, but without knowing where we are starting from and a history of tracked results, we have no clue as to what we should change or even which direction we should go.

5. Being held Accountable

No, not accountability! That is an evil word. I don’t want someone to know what I am doing, or more importantly what I am not doing.

So, why do we resist accountability, your secret weapon to weight loss?  Because it works!  If you know someone is going to be watching, you would follow through or at least feel very uncomfortable not following through.

Accountability when used wisely is the ultimate turbo booster to your weight loss. Since you are going to be accountable anyway, you might as well get something out of it.

Using accountability up front, you can achieve the body of your dreams. If you let your body hold you accountable, it will throw on fat in places you don’t want it to be.

The biggest obstacle to weight loss is not taking any action. It doesn’t matter how good the plan is, it is worthless if you don’t follow it. So what do I do now?

First and foremost get Accountable.

Forward this article to someone you respect and care about and tell them I want to be accountable to finally taking off my extra pounds. When they agree to support you, start working through Steps 1 – 5.

5 Healthy Tips To Weight Loss

Tips To Weight Loss
The world is fascinated with weight loss, some for health reasons and others for cosmetic. No matter the reason, many people try harsh diets that never work, extreme exercise regimens that result in injuries or other weight loss program that end without success. The reason that none of these weight loss methods seem to work is because in order to stay with a program, you have to enjoy it. Not only that, but it has to be safe as well.

Below are 5 genuine tips to weight loss, which almost anyone can do without tossing out their favorite food or spending every spare minute in the gym. Realistically, any weight loss program will take time. If anyone promises you different, they are either not being completely honest or are simply uninformed. Follow one single weight loss program for 30 days, whatever it may be, and see if you have results. If not, move on to something else. In the meantime, check out several tips to getting started today.

Tip # 1
Walking. If you can set aside 30 minutes every day to enjoy a leisurely stroll, you will be strengthening your legs and your heart while burning some calories in the process.

Tip # 2
Use a mini cycle. These portable little exercise units offer the look of bicycle pedals set up on a metal bar, but without the high price or weight of a standard exercise bike. With a min cycle, you can pedal at your desk, on the couch or anywhere else that you can comfortably set and reach the pedals.

Tip # 3
Walk or take the stairs instead of an elevator. This is a terrific weight loss exercise without even noticing the extra effort. Something as simple as a few extra steps every day can go a long way where weight loss is concerned. The next time you go to the store, park in the middle of the parking lot and walk to the store. Avoid parking in the closest spot to the door, which is tempting, but opt to walk instead.

Tip # 4
You don’t necessarily have to cut out all of your favorite foods, but you should eat them in moderation. There is no single food that will completely hinder your weight loss attempt but, if consumed excessively, it may. For instance, simply limit your intake to one candy bar or, if you are being really careful, a miniature candy. There is no reason to cut out your favorite food when a conservative amount of the things we love can still have a place in our lives, including during the times that we are focusing on weight loss.

Tip # 5
Whatever your exercise routine, set aside a certain time each day to do it. Individuals who set a routine are much more likely to stay with it and find success than those who simply exercise whenever they have time. The goal to successful weight loss is to make time.

Prior to beginning any weight loss program, individuals must consult a physician for proper diagnosis and/or treatment.

4 Steps To Better Health

4 Steps To Better Health
It's possible to learn HOW to better your health in only 4 steps and this article will show you how. Each step is a bite-sized nugget of healthy living information you can actually use.

Let's get started...

Step 1: Nutritional Supplements

In my opinion, they are very necessary and very beneficial- especially when combined with healthy eating habits. It's very difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs through food alone, but combining proper nutrition with nutritional supplements is very powerful.

That being said, the one supplement everyone should be taking is a good multi vitamin/mineral. Look at it as added insurance- eating well is crucial, but now that you're also taking a multi, you can rest assured you're getting the nutrients your body needs.

Step 2: Nutrition

Good nutrition is SO important. You are what you eat...remember that. Make a conscious effort to gradually improve your eating habits, eating more of the good foods (nuts, berries, peanut butter, olive oil, greens, chicken, whole grains, etc.) and less of the bad foods (fried food, saturated fat, fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, etc.). Reading the label of what you're eating will tell you a lot.

You may think you lack the needed will power, but you'll be amazed at what happens when you start to gradually improve your eating habits.

Step 3: Exercise

Exercise is the missing piece of the puzzle when it comes to better health. There are so many benefits of exercising, including stronger bones and improved libido- it's a no brainer to start doing it. Your goal should be to exercise 3-5 times a week with a combination of cardio exercises and strength training (but no more than 1 hour per workout session).

It's been measured that if you add 3 pounds of muscle to your body, this added muscle will burn as many calories as if you ran 1 mile. Muscle burns calories!

Step 4: Stress Management and Sleep

Stress management and getting good sleep each night round out your path to better health. Until you find a way to manage your stress, it will continue to do damage to your body. Two tips you might want to implement include prioritizing your day each morning and practicing deep breathing exercises (yes, you probably already knew this, but have you tried it?).

Getting enough sleep each night is equally important when you consider your body uses this time to repair itself. You should aim for 7-9 hours each night. Two tips you might want to implement include exercising and avoiding late night eating.

Now that you have the basics, expand on this information. Step 1 research more about Nutritional Supplements, Step 2 research more about Nutrition and so on. I guarantee after the 4 steps you'll feel more confident about reaching your health & fitness goals.

4 Habits and Tricks to Help You Lose Weight at the Restaurants

Over-eating is easy at restaurants. You order your dishes, they put it in front of you, and you clean your plate. We all want our money's worth when we go out to eat, since we are paying for our food and service. However, this can be detrimental to your efforts to losing weight on several levels. Don't worry though, there is a way to eat out at restaurants and still lose weight. Just follow these simple habits and tricks and you will be able to enjoy your meals and know you are still moving in the right direction.

1. Hit the Mains (right off the bat) - Jump over the starters and you will be avoiding (in most cases) a high calorie punch to the gut. Most of these appetizers are loaded with empty calories (especially the fried ones), so by avoiding them you will be cutting hundreds of calories out of the meal.

2. Always Order a Salad - Load your meal up with nutritious veggies to offset your appetite. Get your salad dressing on the side, and if you are keener, choose a vinaigrette (it has good fats and is lower on the calories). Bonus trick if you choose to accept it... eat the salad first to fill up a little before jumping to the main dish.

3. Divide and Conquer - Split your main dish up into two (just ask your server to do this for you), so you will have one for your meal at hand, and the other to go. Serving sizes these days are bigger than ever, so dividing them will give you a more appropriate serving size.

4. Slow Down - The stomach actually takes a bit of time to initiate a response indicating you are full. However, there is a lag in this response. By speed eating, the signal from your stomach to your brain will be too late and you will actually be too full. Slow down, chew more, chat more and you will find yourself full faster than you usually are.

There you have it, some simple habits and tricks to help you lose weight and move you closer to burning that fat, even when you go out to eat at the restaurants. Apply these on your next restaurant meals and see how eating out at a restaurant doesn't have to hinder your efforts to losing that weight. Enjoy those restaurant meals because you deserve it, but do it in a way that allows you to keep an eye on your goal (and waistline).

Top 10 Best New Sex Tips for 2012

Top 10 Best New Sex Tips for 2012
Some sex research has a tendency to state the obvious. None of these studies did. We rounded up the surprising (#10), the fascinating (#3), and the plain weird (#9) to bring you the best sex and relationship stories of 2012. (What better things do you have to do on New Year’s Day? Once your hangover is gone, that is.)

You’re welcome.

1. A couple that cuddles together stays together.
Tough guys, listen up: A new study from the Kinsey Institute found that men value cuddling more than women do. In fact, the researchers say that the notion that women like to cuddle more than guys is just a stereotype—and that men may have a greater need for nonsexual contact in the long tern. Still, feel free to sidle up to her. Snuggling was related to sexual satisfaction.

2. Don’t cheat, ever.
Cheating on a woman not only fractures your relationship with her—it can also fracture your penis. A new study in the journal Sexual Medicine found that men who have extramarital affairs are more likely to suffer penis fractures than guys who don’t stray. (Normally, broken penises wouldn’t rank this high on our list of the best research of last year, but this study is definitely an exception.) The reason? A lot of these same men end up having affairs in weird locations, like cars, elevators, and bathroom stalls. And if you’re having sex in a physically awkward location, you’re more likely to crush yourself.

3. Deep voices turn women on.
There could be another reason why Barry White was such a ladies man: He had a legendary baritone. And according to a new study in the journal Memory & Cognition, women prefer listening to men with deep voices, compared to their more highly-pitched counterparts. The reason could be evolutionary, say the scientists, who note that deep voices indicate genetic superiority in males. The good news? You can fake it. The bad news? You might also sound like a creep.

4. Choose a wider variety of porn.
No one wants to watch the same movie over and over again—even if that “movie” happens to be porn. That’s because watching the same erotic film repeatedly can blunt women’s arousal. In a new Dutch study, women who viewed 18 similar clips experienced a dip in vaginal responses; men’s arousal, on the other hand, remained constant. Later, while watching new content, both sexes’ arousal spiked. The takeaway: Novelty helps excite her—choose your films accordingly.

5. Or, on second though, maybe you should just cut back on the porn…
If you prefer the ladies online to the ones in real-life, you could be setting yourself up for future libido problems. A new report on an Italian Society of Andrology and Sexual Medicine survey found that men who started watching porn in their mid-teens—and still continue to watch it daily—tend to have more trouble getting an erection. The Internet allows for immediate access to porn, which wires the brain for constant visual stimuli, say the scientists. New or novel porn jacks up the release of dopamine but can eventually leads to an inability to masturbate without it, he says.

6. It’s not always your fault that she’s faking her orgasms.
If you suspect that your girlfriend is faking it, she might have suspicious of her own: Women who think their partner is going to cheat on them are more likely to fake an orgasm than ladies who feel secure in their relationship, reports a recent study in Archives and Sexual Behavior. But she doesn’t just put on a show to keep you from bolting. Research points to a few more reasons why she imitates the “big O.”
Read the full story: The Strange Reason Why She’s Faking It

7. Don’t reach for the condom right away.
Using protection doesn’t have to kill the mood—just wait until the end of a foreplay session before you put it on. Men who initiate condom use too early—especially without asking her first—seem to presume sex and may come off like they’re overly afraid of contracting an STD, say the researchers. Your best move is to wait for her to initiate it, but if she’s not budging just say, “I want you so bad. Do you mind if we grab a condom?”

8. Everyone needs a good rebound.
Yep, you read that right. And here’s why: Being in a long-term relationship changes your concept of your identity, according to a study in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. Over time, your friends, possessions, and even goals become less about “you” and more about “us.” And so much of that post-breakup anguish is actually about the fracture of a person’s identity. Hence, the rebound. Developing a new relationship could help fill that hole—but the best way to go about doing it is to find someone who shares an interest that you’re also passionate about. You can start rebuilding your identity from there.

9. Your hand size is linked to your penis size.
We dare you to not look at your hand after reading this: Guys with shorter index fingers than ring fingers tend to have bigger penises than guys with the opposite digit scenario, finds a new study in the Asian Journal of Andrology. The connection: The testosterone men get exposed to while they’re still fetuses controls both penis and finger length, the researchers explain.

10. Pillow talk should come before sex—not after.
Before you get to the foreplay, leave a little room for the sweet nothings. When researchers surveyed women about their post-coital activities, women rated intimate talk as “significantly more important” before sex than after. She may want to talk to you before sex to access your level of commitment, say the researchers. Note: That doesn’t give you an excuse to just roll over afterwards. And no scientist should have to tell you that.

7 steps to better sleep

7 steps to better sleep : Sleep tips
Better sleep can be yours! Consider sleep tips for the weary.

Feeling crabby lately? Or simply worn out? Perhaps the solution is better sleep.

Think about all the factors that can interfere with a good night's sleep — from pressure at work and family responsibilities to unexpected challenges, such as layoffs, relationship issues or illnesses. It's no wonder that quality sleep is sometimes elusive.

Although you might not be able to control all of the factors that interfere with your sleep, you can adopt habits that encourage better sleep. Start with these simple sleep tips.

No. 1:  Stick to a sleep schedule

Go to bed and get up at the same time every day, even on weekends, holidays and days off. Being consistent reinforces your body's sleep-wake cycle and helps promote better sleep at night. There's a caveat, though. If you don't fall asleep within about 15 minutes, get up and do something relaxing. Go back to bed when you're tired. If you agonize over falling asleep, you might find it even tougher to nod off.

No. 2:  Pay attention to what you eat and drink

Don't go to bed either hungry or stuffed. Your discomfort might keep you up. Also limit how much you drink before bed, to prevent disruptive middle-of-the-night trips to the toilet.

Nicotine, caffeine and alcohol deserve caution, too. The stimulating effects of nicotine and caffeine — which take hours to wear off — can wreak havoc with quality sleep. And even though alcohol might make you feel sleepy at first, it can disrupt sleep later in the night.

No. 3:  Create a bedtime ritual

Do the same things each night to tell your body it's time to wind down. This might include taking a warm bath or shower, reading a book, or listening to soothing music — preferably with the lights dimmed. Relaxing activities can promote better sleep by easing the transition between wakefulness and drowsiness.

Be wary of using the TV or other electronic devices as part of your bedtime ritual. Some research suggests that screen time or other media use before bedtime interferes with sleep.

No. 4: Get comfortable

Create a room that's ideal for sleeping. Often, this means cool, dark and quiet. Consider using room-darkening shades, earplugs, a fan or other devices to create an environment that suits your needs.

Your mattress and pillow can contribute to better sleep, too. Since the features of good bedding are subjective, choose what feels most comfortable to you. If you share your bed, make sure there's enough room for two. If you have children or pets, set limits on how often they sleep with you — or insist on separate sleeping quarters.

No. 5:  Limit daytime naps

Long daytime naps can interfere with nighttime sleep — especially if you're struggling with insomnia or poor sleep quality at night. If you choose to nap during the day, limit yourself to about 10 to 30 minutes and make it during the mid afternoon.

If you work nights, you'll need to make an exception to the rules about daytime sleeping. In this case, keep your window coverings closed so that sunlight — which adjusts your internal clock — doesn't interrupt your daytime sleep.

No. 6:  Include physical activity in your daily routine

Regular physical activity can promote better sleep, helping you to fall asleep faster and to enjoy deeper sleep. Timing is important, though. If you exercise too close to bedtime, you might be too energized to fall asleep. If this seems to be an issue for you, exercise earlier in the day.

No. 7:  Manage stress

When you have too much to do — and too much to think about — your sleep is likely to suffer. To help restore peace to your life, consider healthy ways to manage stress. Start with the basics, such as getting organized, setting priorities and delegating tasks. Give yourself permission to take a break when you need one. Share a good laugh with an old friend. Before bed, jot down what's on your mind and then set it aside for tomorrow.

Top Five Romance Foods

Top Five Romance Foods

The weather’s wonderful; the moon is up, you put on some music, and your sweetheart’s home. What more do you need to make it romantic evening? Some romantic food would be nice, we suggest. From ancient Indian texts to new age love gurus, the potency of aphrodisiac foods has long tickled our fantasy taste buds. So, we put together a few top type of foods that you want to use to add some zing to your romantic evening.
  • Almonds: The very every-day almond is supposed to be rich in magnesium, Vitamin E and fibre that not only keep you healthy, but can put you in the mood for love as well. It has been known as a symbol of fertility through the ages. In fact, ancient Romans would shower newlyweds with almonds as a fertility charm.
  • Watermelons: Turns out this amazing fruit that is so cool on a hot summer day can be quite hot on its own as well. Research has shown that watermelons contain citrulline, a chemical that signals the body to release arginine, which in turn helps relax blood vessels – an effect similar to Viagra.
  • Chilli Peppers: These hot and spicy peppers can turn up the heat in the kitchen and the bedroom. They are known to contain chemicals that help increase circulation, stimulate nerve endings, and raise our pulse. Sound familiar? As a bonus, they also help release endorphins – chemicals that make us ‘feel good’.
  • Honey: Honey contains boron, a trace mineral that helps the body metabolise oestrogen. It is also known to increase levels of testosterone – the hormone that increases sex drive (yes, in both men and women). That’s possibly why lovers call each other that.
  • Chocolate: That most delectable of foods, it is a known agent for ‘setting the mood’. Put them in a box and tie a little ribbon on it for starters, and pour some melted goodness of it onto the ice cream for dessert. This well-known ‘king of aphrodisiacs’ contains phenylethylamine, a chemical which stimulates the pleasure nodes in the brain and releases dopamine – the chemical whose secretion peaks during an orgasm.

Tips on Sex Hygiene

Tips on Hygiene Sex

Cleanliness and measures of hygiene are something we are all taught about but only a few are aware of sex hygiene. Certain hygienic steps should be taken by all to prevent any infections as well as to prevent any situation of embarrassment when you are about to indulge in a romp on the bed. Sex hygiene is as important as overall health and the following instructions can work for your benefit.

Tips on Sex Hygiene

  • Men need to clean their penis by starting at the head of the penis. If you are uncircumcised, you need to pull back your foreskin as far as it is possible without causing any discomfort. The pulled foreskin will expose both the glans which needs to be gently cleaned with lukewarm water. Ensure cleanliness of the glans and the inner side of the foreskin as a white substance called smegma gets formed here. Smegma consists of dead skin cells, oils, body fluids and bacteria. The presence of this substance can cause infections and foul smell. Circumcised men too need to maintain hygiene as the absence of foreskin can cause the penis head to come in direct contact with sweat and bacteria. Clean your genitals both before and after the sexual act to prevent infections.
  • A woman needs to clean her outer genital areas and anus if engaging in anal sex. Cleaning of genitals need to be done to prevent yeast infections as well as bad odour. Wash your genitals both before and after sex to prevent any infections. Do not go overboard with washing by vigorous flushing of vagina or douching with scented liquids as it affects the pH balance of the vagina and can make you prone to infections. Pat dry the privates and not by rubbing with a towel.
  • Both men and women should ensure removal of pubic hair which can be done by shaving or by a pair of scissors. Not only it is ghastly to have a bush down there but it is also an invitation to various problems. Since privates are not exposed to fresh air it becomes literally a boiling pot of all infections as heat and sweat makes a perfect breeding area for bacteria. Trimmed pubic hair not only gives a clean appearance but reduces itching and bad odour. Those getting a bikini wax done should be careful of the hygiene standards of the salon.
  • Choosing to remain in your sweaty clothes and underwear after a workout is definitely unhealthy. Even if your sweat drenched clothes have dried, they still pose risk for you as bacteria and yeast flourish in sweat and a urinary tract infection or yeast infection is not far. Sweat and dust can block your skin pores around your private area and cause folliculitus, which are inflamed and infected hair follicles.
  • For women, they should change their tampons and sanitary pads after every three to six hours depending on the menstrual flow. Keeping them for a long time may let bacteria thrive causing bad odor and infections.
  • Never hold on to the urge of going to the washroom to urinate, especially before practicing sex. Urinating makes your bladder get rid of bacteria and toxins that thrive in the urinary tract. Delaying urination speeds up breeding of bacteria which leads to infections. A bladder full of urine makes your urethra prone to infection from your vagina or your partner’s penis.
  • Do not indulge in oral sex if either of the partner has sores inside the mouth or near the genitals as it can lead to infections.
  • Do not wear tight underwear or tight fitting jeans for a long time as they trap sweat and attract breeding of bacteria. Prefer natural fabrics such as cotton instead of synthetics for your innerwear.
